SUPERCHARGE YOUR MORNING SMOOTHIE WITH THESE 6…

Now, more than ever, we need to support and strengthen our immune system. Getting enough sleep, exercising regularly, staying hydrated, reducing stress, and eating a healthy diet that contains all of the nutrients you need are all important to keeping your immune system strong.

Brookfield WI doctors know that one of the easiest ways to start your day with a ton of nutrients is with a smoothie. Starting your day in a healthy way also sets the tone for the day and will motivate you to make healthy choices throughout the day.

If you’re like me, in the morning when I’m in a rush I don’t always like to take the time to follow recipes for your smoothies. I just put in my blender whatever I’m in the mood for that day that is easy to grab. However, I always make sure my superfoods go into all my smoothies.

I always, without fail, start EVERY smoothie with leafy greens like spinach or kale. It is the easiest way to get in those greens without even thinking about it. They are powerful antioxidants that contain many vitamins and minerals including Vitamin C, K, A, Zinc, Calcium, Beta-Carotene, Potassium, magnesium, and more. Spinach is a better choice in smoothies if you are someone that wants to hide your greens in your smoothie without much taste. Adding citrus fruits or berries adds that next layer of vitamins and minerals such as Vitamin C, potassium, folate, and fiber, just to name a few. Add your favorite protein powder if desired and almond milk for the added vitamins A, D, and E.
